As a Software Engineer (Founding Engineer), you’ll play a critical role in building and shaping Caddie. We’re still pretty early, so you’ll get a chance to work on infrastructure, AI, ML, core features, and everything in between. Our product has a small front-end footprint so most of the work is backend. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the co-founders to go from zero to one.
We’ll keep it short. We’re looking for great people rather than checking 100 boxes.

The Caddie Team
We're building a search and conversational AI system that needs to be fast and accurate. Our backend is Typescript, using PostgreSQL. The frontend is a lightweight TypeScript/React widget that customers embed on their sites.
The hard problems we're solving include making search work reliably across massive product catalogs (1M+ SKUs) and building AI systems that can understand complex product queries in addition to traditional text-based search methods. Our Answers product helps customers with their questions. The hard problem here is building a system that can learn on its own, what type of answers lead to conversion and continuously improve. This requires building reinforcement learning systems and stitching it with various AI components.
We’re excited to get to know you and want to make the process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Here’s what to expect:
1. 15-minute introduction call – A quick chat to meet you and share a bit about us.
2. 45-60 minute conversation – A deeper discussion to get to know you better and give you a chance to learn more about us.
3. 90-minute technical interview – An opportunity to showcase your technical skills and dive into some interesting challenges.
4. Take-home technical assessment – A flexible way for you to demonstrate your expertise at your own pace.
If you have other offers on the table, just let us know. We’ll happily do our best to speed things up for you!
