About the role

About DraftWise

DraftWise is revolutionizing the way attorneys draft and negotiate contracts using AI. DraftWise understands the meaning of contracts, so when lawyers come to write a new contract, they start with their best language without hours of tedious searching. In negotiation, DraftWise AI understands the meaning of each clause, and using generative AI, it suggests language based on past negotiations. DraftWise dramatically reduces the time needed to create and negotiate contracts, adding attorney capacity without adding more attorneys and increasing billing recovery while providing clients faster service.

About the role

We seek a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our team and immediately help redefine and drive how we position and message ourselves to the market. DraftWise has successfully acquired some of the world’s biggest law firms as customers, and to drive our future growth, we need to build a product marketing muscle with this as our foundational hire.

You will report to the Head of Marketing, a former long-time Twilio PMM, and bring your perspective and frameworks to help drive the company’s GTM. You are someone who will naturally seek and become an expert on DraftWise and our customers. You will shape product communications, develop messaging and positioning, and play a critical role in launching features to new and existing markets. You will be responsible for scaling one of our most important marketing motions, and we expect you to be comfortable taking a data-driven and customer-centric approach to the PMM role.

This role is based in North America, and to collaborate successfully with the Marketing team, you must significantly overlap with Eastern and Pacific Time, wherever you live. We are a fully remote company, and you can co-work in our major US cities should you choose to. You must be able to get to an airport to travel to team meetings, conferences, customers, etc. Travel is anticipated to be 5-10% of the role.

Responsibilities breakdown

  • Drive DraftWise's new positioning and messaging by listening to customers, understanding their delights, needs, and frustrations, and using that information to inform the product narrative.
  • Manage new product launches to ensure cross-discipline synchronization and manage revenue impact.
  • Optimize our website and email programs so prospects convert higher.
  • Enable the sales team to help prospects understand DraftWise's potential by creating sales collateral, training, and tools that contribute to their success.
  • Measure what works and doesn't, and drive business decisions based on the data analysis.

Requirements:

Curious: You are deeply curious about how things work and how to change them. You use this curiosity to drive outcomes, using metrics and analysis to make informed decisions.

Creativity: Get creative in demonstrating your creativity. How have you used limited resources to drive outsized outcomes at work?

Business Acumen: You might demonstrate this with 8+ years of experience or running your own business. We are interested in examples of using metrics and analysis to drive informed business decisions.

What we value

  • Comfort in communicating in a transparent, direct environment.
  • Cultivating an environment of trust through well-intentioned feedback.
  • The ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal direction.
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with dynamic objectives.

What you’ll need:

  • 5-7 years of product marketing experience at a B2B company with skilled PMM leaders you’ve learned from
  • Experience doing positioning, messaging, personas, use cases, etc.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You love to write and can communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional workstreams
  • An ability to work at strategic and operational levels, consistently meeting or exceeding planned objectives.
  • A strong track record of spearheading launches and marketing campaigns that drive significant business results.
  • Strong ability to synthesize insights and leverage data to influence critical decisions
  • You are a scrappy and resourceful operator. You can unblock yourself to achieve your goals and think creatively about your problem-solving approach.

Bonus Points:

  • Startup SaaS experience, especially in professional services, is a plus!
  • You've worked with technology products that have targeted lawyers with cloud-based services.
  • You've worked with technology products that have targeted enterprises via direct, online, and channel strategies.
Technology

We have plenty of challenges at all levels of the stack, from the nuts and bolts of designing a processing back-end engine, VM infrastructure and NLP all the way up to building beautiful web technology.

If you have the appetite for it, you’ll be able to drive the product direction.
