About SiPhox Health

Wearable and At-Home protein monitoring with silicon photonic chips

About the role
Skills: Packaging

SiPhox is embarking on an ambitious effort to develop and commercialize an at-home diagnostic platform with a large menu of multiplexed immunoassay applications. Our chip-based solution combines state-of-the-art biochemistry, photonics, electronics, and microfluidics to provide the power of large laboratory instruments in a portable device. We are growing our electrical engineering team to make this happen.

We are a startup that needs electrical engineering skills ranging from motor control and embedded power supplies to temperature control and wireless communication. We require an engineer with experience in embedded development. In office work is required for this reason to enable testing with instrumentation development hardware.

Workflow and team development is a large part of this role as we are scaling up our team and organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design schematics and PCBs for development and release.
  • Source and test designed PCBs.
  • Debug and troubleshoot hardware systems in the lab, including PCB issues and system integration challenges, ensuring rapid problem resolution.
  • Conduct hands-on testing, calibration, and validation of prototypes and production systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Design, code, test, and maintain C, C++ code bases for unit testing systems
  • Contribute to design, specification, and simulation of PCBs.
  • Specify requirements, test, and repair 3rd party sourced PCBs.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify requirements for software and track them in our project management software.
  • Documentation creation and maintenance.
  • Participate on teams using standup oriented project management.
  • Enhance personal and company workflows over time.

 Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience.

  • Experience with microcontrollers PCB layout and sensor layout.

  • Experience with power supply design, USB and wireless communication.

  • Experience with managing PCB board production and assembly.

  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting PCB design.

  • Embedded code development in C and C++ preferred.

    Bonus

  • Experience with temperature control and management.

  • Experience with medical devices.

  • Experience with QMS and product lifecycle.

  • Team oriented work in a modern VCS (i.e. git).

  • Opinions on code linting and auto-code formatting.

  • Experience in code documentation.

  • Linux system administration.

Technology

We are developing a new paradigm for consumer health tech wearables by replacing a 100lb optical instrument with an area of silicon smaller than a postage stamp.
