About PlayHT
About the role

Play.ai (fka PlayHT) is at the forefront of generative voice and conversational LLMs. With our Speech Synthesis and Voice Cloning models, we are building state-of-the-art conversational AI products.
We are building a platform and infrastructure for Conversational AI Voice Agents so that every business, developer, or tinkerer can easily build talking, human-like AI agents and use them to serve their customers; this will unlock massive value for the world and a lot of happiness for people using these delightful agents.
We joined YC last year in the YC W23 batch. Since then, we have raised $20 million in seed funding and seen significant growth in users and revenue (20x in the last two years).

Role Overview:
We’re looking for a passionate and autonomous Developer Relations Manager to join our team. You will be the bridge between our products and the developer community, especially within the enterprise sector, focusing on major cloud providers. This role requires you to build trust within our team, prioritize the greater good of the organization, and create compelling demos that showcase the power of Play.ai's offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autonomous Project Ownership:  Take the lead on initiatives to expose Play.ai's products to developers across major enterprise platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Demo Development:  Design, build, and showcase interactive demos that highlight the full potential of our voice technology.

  • Enterprise Developer Engagement:  Cultivate relationships within the developer ecosystem of cloud providers, ensuring our products are part of their toolkits and workflows.

  • Strategic Prioritization:  Balance multiple projects and requests, making data-driven decisions about where to focus your time and energy for maximum developer impact.

  • Team Trust & Alignment:  Build and maintain the trust of the Play.ai team by consistently making decisions that serve the long-term vision and objectives of the organization, prioritizing team goals over individual recognition.

  • Community Building:  Actively engage in developer communities, forums, and events to build awareness and trust in Play.ai’s products.

  • Feedback Loop:  Act as the voice of the developer community, providing insights to product and engineering teams to guide the development of new features.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in Developer Relations, with a focus on enterprise markets and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).

  • Strong technical background and ability to build meaningful demos that resonate with developers.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work autonomously, make decisions that prioritize the success of the team and organization, and build trust across the company.

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Why Join Us?

  • A pivotal role in a rapidly growing startup at the forefront of conversational AI technology.

  • The opportunity to solve challenging problems and innovate in uncharted territories.

  • A culture that values technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration.

  • Competitive compensation, including equity, reflecting your experience and contribution to the success of the company.

  • Flexible working hours.

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible PTO; and holidays.
