About Trayd

Trayd is a B2B fintech/SaaS platform designed specifically for commercial real estate subcontractors, providing:

  1. A modern workforce management platform that features time-tracking tools that power a streamlined payroll automation, creating efficiencies across time and pay
  2. Earned wage access to workers via weekly direct deposit payments and/or instant, same-day cash-out.

Our obsessive trait is making sure our people get money the second the want it. For workers, we will get them paid within seconds, opening up power over their cashflow for the first time ever

What problem are we solving

As a B2B2C company, we are solving two major problems. For construction subcontractors, we are alleviating back office workflows that are slowing them down, while simultaneously incentivizing their workforce to minimize attrition. For workers, we are getting them paid when and how they need it.

What is Trayd?

Trayd is a construction payroll platform and back office management system designed for same-day pay. We allow the 7M construction workers in the US to get access to their earned wages 7-10 days sooner than legacy payroll providers. With a unique spin on traditional payroll, Trayd is on a mission to create back office efficiencies for commercial subcontractors while simultaneously addressing the significant labor shortage affecting the $2.1TR North American construction industry. Trayd is based in New York and backed by Bloomberg Beta and Y Combinator.

The problem we're solving

As a B2B2C company, we are solving two major problems. Our dual-focus addresses both subcontractors and their workers. For subcontractors, we streamline back office tasks and incentivize the workforce to reduce turnover. For workers, we provide timely payment options, creating financial opportunity through access and control.

As our only designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual and user experience aspects of our platform. This is a part-time position with the potential to transition to a full-time role at the end of the year. You will work closely with our team of 8 full-time employees (including the founders) to bring our vision to life and elevate our brand.

  • Conduct User Research and Testing: Perform user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and implement new design practices to enhance our product’s usability and visual appeal.
  • Contribute to Product Strategy: Collaborate directly with the founders to align design initiatives with the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring that design priorities support overall business goals.

Why you should join Trayd

Not only that, Trayd is pioneering digital cash access for a demographic traditionally overlooked while simultaneously modernizing operations in an industry that has been slow to adapt. The challenges and opportunities with Trayd are abundant, promising an engaging journey ahead.

Our organization is ripe for growth. The co-founders have been best friends since childhood, and we treat everyone we work with as part of our family. We value individuals who are proactive, big thinkers, and are driven towards building the future they want to see.

Technology

Trayd utilizes a modern tech stack centered around TypeScript, ensuring reliable, robust, and consistent development across the stack. Our backend and API leverage Prisma and trpc for scalability and performance.

Our platform consists of two applications:

  1. A mobile app developed with Expo, catering specifically to construction workers, allowing them to clock in and out of geofenced job sites, and giving them the opportunity to instantly (within 10 seconds) cash out their earned wages
  2. A Next.js admin portal for subcontractors to automate employee onboarding and workforce management. Our platform boasts a full and robust payroll system - this is all these subs need to manage their employees and pay them.

In addition, we have integrated with various third-party partners for seamless integration with banking, payroll APIs, KYC, and more. While we currently rely on these partnerships, we have plans to eventually bring these functionalities in-house for increased control and customization.

Our CTO/founder has single-handedly built the entire platform, and now we're seeking talented engineers to collaborate and help scale our venture. We're particularly interested in candidates with expertise in React.

If you're a skilled engineer seeking a fast-paced and dynamic environment, join Trayd. Become part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and is committed to revolutionizing construction tech and bringing these companies into the 21st century.
