That’s why we’re building Just Words, an AI-first marketing copilot that automatically optimizes your marketing campaigns and hyper-personalizes marketing content at scale.

Our mission is to build an AI that can handle day-to-day marketing operations like coming up with new campaigns and designing compelling emails and notifications that resonate with each user, but our core vision is to make marketing feel more like a conversation than “content.”

As a Founding Software Engineer, your responsibility would be to help us build and scale our backend and recommendation systems from the ground up. You must be willing to bet on yourself and build expertise quickly.

We’re excited to welcome someone who has a strong startup mindset. They get a kick from the type 2 fun from spending long hours solving impossible tasks. Qualifications:

• 3+ years of industry experience in backend systems, cloud architectures, and data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of database design, data processing, and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with cloud and auth platforms (e.g., AWS, Cloudflare, Clerk) and DevOps practices.
• Strong proficiency in backend languages. Preferred backend language is anything that is strongly typed (Java, Scala, Rust).
• Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database design. (PySpark is a plus).
• Hands-on experience with cloud and auth platforms (e.g., AWS, Cloudflare, Clerk) and DevOps practices.
• You have experience building and deploying machine-learning models.
• You have experience building complex recommendation systems.
• (Good to have) Experience with A/B experimentation, contextual bandits, and Bayesian optimization methods.
