We’re an early stage startup (YC S23) with great investors and early traction. Our customers include tech unicorns and organizations you know. We’ve doubled our revenue in the first three months of 2024 and are at an inflection point in our growth.

About our team

Our founding team combines experience from big law, big tech, and high-growth startups.

  • Grey is a repeat entrepreneur. He cut his teeth at GoCardless (YC S11) as employee #3, then co-founded, built and sold Dependabot (acquired by GitHub in 2019). Before Pincites he was VP of Product at GitHub.
  • Sona is a practiced attorney with expertise in transactional law and intellectual property. She has a background as a strategic consultant in legal tech, where she helped companies automate their internal processes for almost three years.
  • Mariam worked as a software engineer at Meta and as an engineer and PM at a legal tech startup before joining GitHub as a product manager for security products, where she led the secret scanning teams.

Pincites accelerates contract redlining within Microsoft Word, offering AI-generated suggestions and comments tailored to client preferences. With support from top investors like Nat Friedman, General Catalyst, Liquid 2 Ventures, and Y Combinator, we’ve generated significant annual recurring revenue and serve legal teams globally. We're on a high-growth trajectory, aiming to build a billion-dollar company.

Legal AI represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to tap into a $300B annual market in the most advanced vertical of AI. This is a wide-open, competitive market with big gains to the winner, we want you to help us stay in front. It’s hard to imagine a world where AI doesn’t completely change how companies approach contracts, and many legal teams now have mandates to incorporate AI (just scroll through a few legal job postings). We are venture-funded, in the seed stage, and assembling a world-class team. As an early member of our team, you’ll join us on this exciting ride.

Our Founders

We’re led by a 3x product and engineering executive with 13 years of startup experience, with his most recent exit to Microsoft. His legal cofounder counterpart is an AI-obsessed technology and privacy attorney with extensive big law and legal tech experience, who’s a verified expert in building and implementing technology for legal teams. Our final cofounder was the lead of the secret scanning teams at GitHub and former fast-track Meta engineer. We have legal, FAANG, and startup experience nailed to a tee.

Why We Need You

As our first GTM team member, you'll help us formalize our GTM approach from the ground up. Your contributions will be direct and quantifiable, helping fuel our growth and reach out next Series A milestone with speed. Our product sells itself, making it an easy sell with strong product-market fit and high customer demand. While this space is becoming a competitive market, we believe we are in front with the strongest product quality and future roadmap, as shared by our customers selecting us in many competitive trials.

We have an extensive list of MQLs, and we need an AE who is highly organized, can follow up diligently, and close deals with tact and speed. Our CEO will work alongside in partnership to drive deals forward, respond to customer needs, and manage tasks from providing security questionnaires to sending materials to CFOs or budget owners.

What you’ll do

  • Evaluate and prioritize inbound leads for customer potential
  • Quickly respond to qualified leads to schedule meetings
  • Start the discovery process via email to prepare for meetings
  • Prepare summaries for ahead of meetings
  • Collaborate with the founders during meetings to identify action items and next steps
  • Follow up after meetings with quotes and contracts, ensuring they are signed promptly
  • Maintain accurate sales records in Salesforce
  • Help manage and continue to build out an outbound sales motion
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements

Your qualifications

  • Self-starter with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and compelling emails
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple deals simultaneously
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience selling to legal, HR, finance, or related departments in tech companies
  • Demonstrated intelligence and quick learning ability
  • Track record of success in sales
  • SaaS experience

Nice-to-have’s

  • Experience in legal tech or selling technology solutions to legal professionals
  • Use of AI in business or being AI native
  • Familiarity with compliance aspects of selling software, such as SOC II and vendor qualifications

Anyone can build an AI-powered demo. The technical challenges come when you try to build a product customers love.

  • We push the limits of what the AI can do. Getting the best out of LLMs requires orchestrating complicated chains of requests using prompts that have been methodically developed. We benchmark and iterate our prompts to achieve results others can't match.
  • We integrate with our users' current tools. For lawyers that means Microsoft Word, and we're not afraid of becoming experts in technologies like OOXML or officejs to better serve them. It's the difference between a good experience and a great one.
  • We sweat the details to build a great product. We keep things fast with hundred of parallel request to OpenAI, keep them intuitive with constant iteration of our frontend, and keep them reliable by fixing every bug customers experience.

  • Go for our backend API
  • PostgreSQL with pgvector for our data store
  • GCP and Vercel for our backend and frontend hosting
  • OpenAI as our foundation model provider
