Heroic Labs is an enterprise open-core software company that builds developer tools for the games and entertainment industry. Our flagship project is an open-source cloud-agnostic game server called Nakama.

We've added two supporting products called Hiro (a meta game framework) as well as Satori, a LiveOps system to help game studios deliver highly personalizable game experiences to their players.

Heroic Labs also provides managed infrastructure to run Nakama/Satori on behalf of game studios and media companies. There is also a proprietary version called Nakama Enterprise for large enterprises to deploy in their own datacenter, as well as custom infrastructure for private cloud deployments.

We work with different size companies ranging from small startups, mid-size game studios, public-listed games companies, and Fortune 500 companies. This means that Nakama (and suite of products) have been battle-tested at various scales and use cases.

We're looking for a Sales Representative with experience in Enterprise / Corporate Sales to join the growing team at Heroic Labs. 

Our cornerstone offerings—Nakama, Hiro, Satori, and Heroic Cloud—comprise the Heroic Game Stack, an integrated platform delivering unparalleled performance and flexibility is the best solution available for game studios looking to prototype, build and scale their games.

We are simplifying the lives of game developers by providing incredible technology that can be integrated into any game on any platform as easily as possible. Our products power many games, including multiple titles on the Top 50 of the app stores.

There is an ever-growing open-source community with many contributors, and third-party plugins and projects. Heroic Labs works with independent developers, mid-tier, AAA game studios and many publicly listed, Fortune 500 companies across the globe to power games that individually make over 90 billion requests per month into our infrastructure.

We lean towards candidates who have professional experience selling Enterprise products that are considered Core Infrastructure (e.g. databases, cloud infrastructure) and therefore sits at the crux of all modern games.  Our ideal candidate understands the games industry.

About The Role

We are looking for an Enterprise Sales Representative to help take ownership over and improve the existing Sales process at Heroic Labs. You will grow our business by reaching the right people at the right companies at the right time.

We have a small and highly focused sales team which means there is significant room for growth, as you build your knowledge of our products and the highly specific needs of our customers.

You will be working with our existing teams to qualify these opportunities and push the customers along our sales funnel. Initially, on a daily basis you’ll work to find potential customers, building lists, refining outreach, and winning deals as a team. 

You excel in high-energy environments and relish dealing with all the challenges that growth creates. You understand outbound sales prospecting across segments and a focus on improving the process of prospecting and lead generation. You must be located in Western Europe (e.g UK, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany).

Things You Might Do

  • Qualify, and develop inbound and outbound sales leads, delivering high-quality, qualified opportunities to our technical sales team.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to build regular sales campaigns and systematically improve the lead qualification processes.
  • Consistently produce a high level of outbound prospecting activity.
  • Run email campaigns to produce new sales prospects.
  • Analyze industry trends and segments to create new sources of qualified leads.
  • Utilize CRM system to track activity and manage sales opportunities.
  • Report sales activities regularly
  • Meet quarterly and annual qualified opportunity goals.
  • Maintain an up to date technical understanding of products, solutions, and business value propositions.

Scope to grow:

  • Represent Heroic Labs at renowned industry events, driving meetings, sales pitches, and contract negotiations with potential customers.
  • Craft compelling sales strategies per customer, and achieved successful complete 360 sales managing EMEA territory.
  • Manage portfolios of gaming accounts ranging from enterprise to scale ups.
  • Lead sales motions across EMEA for AAA and AA game studios.
  • Leveraged strong cross functional collaboration with internal stakeholders (Tech, Marketing, Product, Legal, Finance) to drive customer acceleration.
  • Build sales pipelines and regular reporting dashboards.
  • Grow and manage an effective sales team.

About You

  • Fluent in the English language.
  • 3-5+ years overall experience in technology sales.
  • Ability to travel for short but frequent trips is essential for this position, for both attending conferences and meeting prospects.
  • Experience managing and coaching through the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
  • Strong experience writing, developing and presenting technical content for external audiences.
  • Developed compelling strategies that meet targets. Leveraging sales methodologies such as Command of the Message, Force Management, MEDDPICC.
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets across teams and individually.
  • Worked with deadlines, effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.
  • Gathered and used data to inform and persuade others.
  • Empathic with developers to help them get onboarded onto our technologies.
  • Experience with CRM-related tools (i.e. HubSpot) and lead qualification-related applications.
  • Ability to function in a “Player/Coach” capacity.

The Whole Package

Location: Western Europe, preferably London or Lisbon. Attending an office is not necessary.

Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Generous OTE.
  • Unlimited vacation policy. Plus we require you to take at least 2 weeks off each year (and observe local holidays).

  • Pick your own equipment. We recommend Macs, but we don't worry if you choose something else!

We use the best tool/language for the job.

Nakama and Satori and all supporting systems from Heroic Labs are used at massive scales, and are currently powering many games including multiple titles on the Top 10 in the App Stores. Our systems are serving more than 90 billion API calls per day.

Nakama/Satori are written in Go to take advantage of light-weight goroutines, simple concurrency, and more importantly the Go community. We heavily depend on Kubernetes (and various extensions) to power our Managed Cloud and Private Cloud deployments.

We also have various dashboards built in Javascript / Typescript and VueJS.

You will be responsible for developing the core server technology, work on infrastructure solutions, provide support to clients, attend conferences, and be involved in technical sales. We'd like engineers to have an all-hands experience across the board but we understand that not all engineers would like to have such responsibilities.
