It’s best if you have experience automating tests as part of a continuous integration pipeline and are able to discuss code coverage requirements and achievements with ease.

In this role, you will...

  • Build and maintain the Pelago Android app, providing our members with the best possible care
  • Work in an agile environment as part of a cross-functional squad, taking full ownership of feature development
  • Collaborate with a product manager and a designer, coming up with creative solutions to the challenges we’re facing together
  • Review and iterate on designs and wireframes, using your expertise to help shape the product
  • Be the go-to person when it comes to Android knowledge for folks at all levels throughout the organisation
  • Work alongside other engineers on the technical roadmap, constantly seeking to improve our codebase and workflows
  • Deliver a great app experience by applying engineering best practices (testing, continuous integration/deployment, etc.)

The background we're looking for...

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin (92% of our codebase) and comfortable with Java
  • Up-to-date with the Android ecosystem (Retrofit, Hilt, Jetpack Compose)
  • A solid understanding of software design patterns, in particular, MVVM and clean architecture
  • Experience integrating REST APIs and working with tools like Postman
  • An eye for design and a focus on providing our members with a great UX (awareness of mobile UX best practices, accessibility, etc.)
